Miznon: Miznon, a popular and highly rated restaurant in Tel Aviv, Paris, Vienna, Melbourne, and now New York City (!!), is a must try for your Friday night agenda. Located in Chelsea Market, Miznon now offers dinner until 10pm Thursdays-Saturdays so that you can enjoy this popular spot all night long! Chef Eyal Shani says, “Our vision is to take the flavor of each city and translate it into pita. To take the energies, the groove, the beauty, and the food and express it all in one pita.” Not only did he take our New York energy and transform it into amazing pita combinations, but Miznon also serves up some other dishes that are simply to die for! We highly recommend the run-over potato, baby cauliflower, ratatouille pita, and ribeye minute steak pita for the perfect combination of flavors and a solid taste of everything that the menu has to offer. The run-over potato was so simple, yet SO GOOD. Gari (our Editor-in-Chief) can attest to how much I loved this dish even though I am not a fan of sour cream, so feel free to slide into her DMsfor proof. The flavor of the soft baked potato and crispy potato skins with the sour cream, garlic, and green onions made for the most delicious combination! The whole roasted cauliflower, their world famous dish, is crispy and burnt on the outside and soft on the inside, with just enough natural flavor (it’s topped with just some olive oil and salt!) to make you want to finish the whole thing. Both of the pitas we ordered were overflowing with fresh, tasty ingredients that they buy locally from other vendors in Chelsea Market; so get ready for a delicious, yet messy eating experience (our favorite kind!). The roasted eggplant in the ratatouille pita was so soft and silky, it melted right in our mouths. Their signature tahini on top was the perfect compliment to the eggplant. The ribeye minute steak pita was cooked to perfection and had lots of yummy accompaniments like pickles, tomatoes, and a long, hot pepper! Although most restaurants in Chelsea Market are more like “stands”, Miznon is a full on casual restaurant (across from Friedmans) and has plenty of seating, tables, and a hoppin’ bar. The staff was beyond friendly and eager to give us recommendations on what to order. They even agreed with our number one rule: the messier it is to eat // THE BETTER!!
Seed & Mill: Seed & Mill, less than a 1-minute walk from Miznon (also located in Chelsea Market), is easily the best way to complete your delicious meal. They are known for grinding fresh tahini on site at this specific location, so we just had to send you here for dessert. You will thank us later! Head on over and order their goat’s milk tahini frozen yogurt with halva on top! The goat’s milk yogurt has a unique taste, almost lighter than regular yogurt, but milky at the same time. The flaky, crumbly, nutty, halva is amazing on top of the yogurt and adds a ton of richness and sweetness to the dessert. Pro Tip: Make sure to pat the halva down into your ice cream with your spoon when they serve it to you. Otherwise, some of the halva crumbles will fall off within moments of putting your spoon into your cup and we do NOT mess around with making sure you have every last bite! No halva left behind!

Misirizzi: Misirizzi, located in NoHo, is one of our new favorite Italian spots! It definitely has that “date night” cozy feel, but is also just a great spot to head with friends! When you walk in, you may think the whole place consists of a pretty bar and a few tables, but follow the hostess to the back where there’s a larger dining area with high ceilings and modern décor. We made a reservation on OpenTable, and they seem to always have availability, so it’s great for a last minute bite! After starting off with their complimentary bread and olives, we had their flavorful butternut squash parmesan soup. We rarely order soup as an appetizer, but after having major food envy from the table next to us, we knew we had to try it! We really came here to try the Pear Carbonara pasta, but upon arrival we learned that it’s actually a lunch menu item. Pro Tip: If you just ask the waiter for it, he will gladly make it to order! Also, if you prefer a vegetarian option (usually it comes with pancetta) they will also make this too, sans pancetta! The mixture of the pear, cheese, and egg with their mafaldine ribbon shaped pasta was simply perfect. Pro Tip #2: There is a door opposite the bar that leads you outside and down a long stairway in between 2 buildings. Take a right to re-enter underneath the building, through the kitchen area, and a sliding door opens to reveal a beautiful rustic wine cellar! It actually feels like you’re in a completely different restaurant, or city for that matter! We’re always looking for restaurants that have a private area, and this one takes it to the next level. All in all, Misirizzi fits all our needs since it’s great for both a big party and a small group. We’ll be back to try their artisanal cheese board consisting of buffalo mozzarella, ricotta, taleggio, and gorgonzola in the very near future!
Frying Pan Wheelhouse: Eat, drink and …. play at the Frying Pan Wheelhouse all day Sunday! You may recognize Frying Pan as your go-to happy hour spot with co-workers along the Hudson River. However, Frying Pan now has an all new location in Industry City. With the weather warming up, (did we skip spring and move right into summer?) this place has it all. From seafood, snacks, fun cocktails, a mini golf course, and a ping pong arena, you won’t want to leave! The 9 hole mini golf course is only $10 per person for unlimited putting and the ping pong is only $5 per person, so you won’t be breaking the bank with any of the adjoining activities! We recommend going for one of their 3 types of lobster rolls or the poke tacos alongside your drinks. Take a seat at one of the colorful high-top tables or stools (that each come with a bright umbrella, of course!) and take in the scenery. But wait, there’s more! The Frying Pan Wheelhouse, will be celebrating Cinco de Mayo all weekend long! They’ll serve up Mexican beers, a *special* drink menu, and themed snack specials! Make sure to go Sunday between 12n-6pm to celebrate!
