July 20-22

Friday Night:

Pier 17: Pier 17, located in the South Street Seaport, has recently reopened with a redesigned space worthy of a visit! The pier is completely different than it used to be and is split up into multiple parts so that you can drink, eat, and even enjoy a concert! You can finally enjoy views of the World Trade Center, Brooklyn Bridge, Governors Island, and even the Statue of Liberty without crowds of tourists surrounding you. There’s no need to go anywhere else this Friday night with the Heineken River Deck(a large outdoor bar!) and the Market Hall(acclaimed Chef David Kronell’s pop-up grab-and-go restaurant!) all steps apart. Don’t forget to check out Geronimo’shuge and newly commissioned rainbow balloon sculpture that will be on display until early September. Keep check on the Pier 17 events page,as they also have a series of weekday rooftop moviesand free fitness classes! While you're checking that out, make sure to get tickets to any of the Pier 17 Rooftop Concert Series; Amy Schumer’s August performance is at the top of our list!

St. Ives Mixing Bar: The St. Ives Mixing Bar is back for another summer of fun (you may remember this pop-up from our newsletter last year!). Located in the center of the Flatiron this time (at 168 Fifth Avenue), the St. Ives Mixing Bar offers guests the opportunity to create personalized face scrubs, moisturizers, and body lotions from more than 60 customizable combinations, including on-trend ingredients such as: rose water, yuzu, kiwi, pink grapefruit, and more! A truly fun-filled experience, the St. Ives Mixing Bar also allows you to try on all products beforehand, so you know exactly what will leave you feeling fresh-faced and glowing! If you're actually looking to step up that glow game, a new all natural mineral shimmer can be added to any combination of ingredients this year! Take time to shop around the store and pick up some of the mixing bar exclusive products like bath bombs, hand creams, and lip scrubs. No visit is complete without a photobooth stop, so head to the back of the store for your photo opp! Pro Tip: Your photo will come up in Boomerang form on a big screen in the middle of the store right after you take it, so have someone stand outside to get a photo or video of your photo because it looks super cool! The Mixing Bar will also be hosting its second private LIVE with St. Ives performance this Thursday, with singer/songwriter Bea Millerat 6pm, followed by a meet-and-greet at 6:30pm for the first 80 fans to arrive! Don’t know if you’ll make it to the store? No worries! Head here for a virtual St. Ives Mixing Bar experience and take 20% OFF any product with the codeYOURWEEKENDPLANS20!

Bocce USQ: Just a 6-minute walkfrom the St. Ives Pop-Up, you will find great food, a great scene, and an overall perfect summer spot. Bocce is a completely outdoor seasonal restaurant (that you must enjoy before fall weather creeps up on us!) in the Union Square pavilion. After trying it last week, it has become our obvious go-to place for refreshing drinks and an Italian brunch or lunch! Anthony Falco, formerly of Roberta's, is behind the new menu, so we knew it was going to be great. They do take some reservations on OpenTable, but reserve most of their tables for walk-ins, so grab a time slot or be prepared for a little wait. Trust us, it’s worth it, so grab a Rose Spritz or Orchard Sangria, two of our favorites, in the meantime! The drinks paired perfectly with the Bocce Bread starter, which comes out fluffy and piping hot with whipped ricotta & olive oil. The pizzas and pastas did not disappoint and are easy to share, which made this a great place to go with a group! Before you ask, yes, there is actual Bocce there to play, yet another reason to visit as soon as possible!

Saturday Night:

Macchina: We were excited to head back to our Murray Hill roots when we saw that Macchina opened up right in the Kip’s Bay area. Macchina looks nothing like Nick’s Pizza Bar, which previously occupied this space, and certainly doesn’t taste like it either! Try to request a table by the front of the restaurant since it’s nice and open (which makes it feel like you’re sitting outside!) even though the modern decor and interior also gave us great vibes. All the dishes are reasonably priced for the most part, which makes it great for a Saturday night date or a night out with your friends. Their special burrata pizza, which has an entire ball of burrata cheese melted on top of their wood oven pizza, lived up to ALL the Instagramhype. Pro Tip: It’s not on the menu, so make sure to tell your server you’re looking to order it. They gave us some insider scoop that this pizza will be available for a very long time, so have no fear when you don’t see it right away!

Dez: Is the New York City heat making you feel like you’re in the dez? You’re not alone! However, it’s easy to embrace the high temps with this new fast casual, Middle Eastern SoHo destination. Since Dez was opened by the co-founder of by CHLOE., Samantha Wasser, and Top Chef Canada contestant, Eden Grinshpan,we had a feeling this was going to be quite tasty! We were pleasantly surprised to see how spacious it was, with tons of seating inside and multiple tables outside as well. We appreciated the aesthetic (neon sign included) which boasted colorful tables and walls, quickly transporting you to a scene in the middle of Morocco. Our meal was super colorful as well, with our favorite parts being the rose lemonade, beet hummus, and cauliflower meze. Pro Tip: The beet hummus comes only with half a pita, but splurge on the extra $1 and order the freshly baked za'atar pita instead! They also recently added brunch items like halva toast and honey rose pancakes, so make sure to tag us in whatever you order so we can see those yummy new additions!
