About: Sneaks to Stilettos (@sneakstostilettos) is a blog and Instagram account that was started by Hailey Susser in late 2017. Growing up on Long Island and attending Boston University, Hailey was always influenced by city fashion and looked for an outlet to showcase her ever-changing style. After struggling to relate to the influencers she saw on Instagram, Hailey created Sneaks to Stilettos in effort to inspire the every-girl. Now living in New York City, Hailey works a full-time job in hospitality marketing and spends the rest of her time on her blog. Read along as Hailey curates this edition of @yourweekendplans.
Seamore’s: Since I work a full 9-5 job and blog every morning and night, Friday nights are my downtime. I love going out for a casual dinner with my girlfriends and just catch up on life before maybe catching a movie. One of my all time favorite restaurants is Seamore’s. There are now six locations and they ALL take reservations! My favorite part of Seamore’s is that the fish they serve is 100% sustainable and is sourced as close to home as possible. As soon as you get there, you MUST order the tuna poke. It has the best flavor and is one of the best pokes in the city! For your main I suggest the seared fish tacos and to drink, the aperol spritz. Aperol Spritz is officially the drink of the summer and my new favorite accessory.
The Costume Institute at The Met: Being as obsessed as I am with fashion, my ideal Saturday would be going to the costume institute's exhibition at the Met. I wait for the Met Gala every year and always need to go straight to the exhibit after. This year’s theme is Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination. There is nothing I love more than looking at the intricate details of the designs and how they tell a story. After perusing the exhibit, definitely head to the roof for a glass of wine and the most beautiful view of Central Park and Upper Manhattan. It’s a great place to relax and enjoy the weather. Plus, there are exhibits on the roof as well! Here’s a little tip for you: The Met has a pay what you want policy for New York residents, all you need is a valid ID.
Van Leeuwen: After a fashion filled afternoon, you can then strut your stuff (and obviously get some street style pics) on your way to the new location of Van Leeuwen Ice Cream just a 14-minute walkaway! There is nothing better than a delicious, cold treat on a hot August day in NYC and this location of a fan favorite vegan ice cream shop is the perfect uptown addition. Their unique flavors really make this ice cream shop so unique and I 100% recommend the honeycomb flavor. I promise it won’t disappoint.
Sushi Seki: I can't even tell you the last time I went a week without sushi, specifically Sushi Seki sushi. With locations on the UES, Times Square, and Chelsea, I can always rely on having one nearby. I highly suggest sitting at the sushi bar if you are able to because speaking with the sushi chefs is always so fascinating. They will tell you which rolls you must try and the "secret" specials. 10/10 must try the salmon sushi with torched tomato. It is a combination that you would never expect but will no longer be able to live without!
Ruby’s Cafe: Ah Ruby’s… I can’t even think about it without smiling. Whether it’s brunch, lunch, or dinner, Ruby’s is one of my all time favorite restaurants in NYC. Even though they don’t take reservations, it is worth the wait. The vibe of this Australian cafe is so cute and they pride themselves on using fresh local produce. If you want to have a light bite, you simply must try the chicken avocado salad. The fresh greens, ricotta, and soft egg make for a perfect combination. However, if you want to ball out, go for the Bronte burger. But no matter what, the brussels sprouts are a MUST! They are cooked in a balsamic reduction and are seriously addicting. However, one of my favorite things about Ruby’s is the location in SoHo because let’s be honest, SoHo has some of the BEST shopping in NYC.
Mulberry & Grand: Since I love simple, re-wearable outfits, accessories are always a must and my all time favorite shop is a2-minute walk(only a block and a half) away! Mulberry & Grand is a cute little shop nestled in SoHo that carries everything from pouches, to statement jewelry, to the latest trend in sunglasses. Everything is to die for and the price point is so amazing! I am currently stocking up on their embroidered patches for a DIY denim jacket for fall. Make sure to look out for the post on Sneaks!
